Hi, and Happy New Year!

I'm trolling thru eBay atm and seeing some nice G4 Powerbooks, 15". I'd dearly love a MB or MBP, but the budget just won't allow, and honestly, either one would be overkill, or underkill, depending on the POV.

Anyways, some sellers are NOT including the restore discs, although OS/X Tiger will come pre-installed.

What I'm wondering is, how would I go about getting those discs, and is there any way to get them for less than the current retail price? If I sent Apple the serial number of the PB, and explained that it was an eBay purchase, what are the odds of getting discs for less than retail, or (gasp) even NO charge?

Is that even an option, or should I just stay away from those auctions that don't include the discs. That would be a shame, as the specs on a couple of them are really nice, but without the discs, I'm very very hesitant.

Thanks!
