Interesting find while browsing online for my replacement MBP:

Well, looky here! It's not a bad mockup, I think. I should go ahead and buy it and sue them when the item I receive isn't like the one in the picture.

Here's the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/APPLE-MACBOOK-P...39:1|66:2|65:12|240:1308&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Notice the 'polished lip' or... 'iphone-esq' ring around the monitor. Snazzy! The curves are sweet, too. I'm into it. I think this is a close one. It also matches the most recent case photo on the main page.

This is quite an old mock-up, but I wouldn't be surprised if the next MBP's end up looking like that.

Would really like some slightly tapered edges too, though.

Me too, but recent rumors say they will keep the boxy design.

ok!

PM me with your CC#

lol :)

Why does it have the latch (without anything to latch to on the top) AND the scoop as if it has a magnetic "latch" like the air?

If you read the specs you can tell that it's obviously fake...8600 still? Right...no DDR3? No mention of the new features in the chipset (faster bus)? Plus that's a mockup that's been floating around for awhile. Pull your pants back up.

not a new one

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GEFORCE 8600M GT VIDEO CARD WITH 256MB OF VIDEO RAM

the current mbp has 512 there is no way apple would go backward on video ram with snow leopard around the corner

Because it's a Photoshopped picture of a MBP and MBA combined, and yes, the specs are not for the current MBP's offered through Apple.

The entire eBay ad was created to generate traffic to this dealer's website  and hopefully someone gets a deal on a nice NEW laptop.

the specs don't add up.

and it says "APPLE FACTORY WARRANTY UNTIL AUGUST 27 2009!" meaning that they bought it somewhere on 27 August 2008.

No, the current one has 256 in the base model.

That's also one of the earliest mockups in existence. FAKE. NOT A REAL LISTING, NOT A REAL REPRESENTATION OF THE NEW MACBOOK PRO.

I know I'm not the only one that notices the whole thing is warped. And the DVD drive is too small. Why don't the keys have anything on? Why doesn't the screen appear rectangular?

I could go on, but this is a pretty bad rendering IMO.

that is not what i ment 256mb is not available in a 17" model that the listing claims it is

If you read the previous post: I know that. I was asking the guy who thinks this is a real leak.

I called them, because I'm cool like that, and this is not a leak. The people who are selling it don't know that it doesn't look like that. I talked to the guy, who said it was a legitimate macbook pro from 2008. So I'm almost positive that when looking for the image to use, he just searched Macbook pro 08, and in Google images, this came up. Probably not an avid mac user.
