Bought an 11 on ebay and love it but was wondering, if something went wrong could I take it to an apple for them to look at? Or do I lose that right because I didn't buy from apple or authorized reseller? First mac so just curious

it's an apple, you can take it to an apple store.

Unless it's stolen.

Even if it is stolen, I doubt a genius at the Apple store could tell it was stolen or even if he did, he could care less. What if you bought it from someone, but was originally stolen? How would you know? Possession is 9/10 of the law. As long as it is less than 1 year old or has Apple Care, the Apple store should be able to fix it. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, you can take it to Apple, and they'll fix it as long as it's still under AppleCare (by default for the first year). However, because you bought it from someone else, make sure you had the AppleCare transferred under your name. Either you or the seller can contact Apple and let them know by email. Google how to do it, its pretty straightforward, and it will make life much simpler if you ever need to take your laptop into Apple.

I'm pretty sure I bought a stolen mba... $450 from sketchy guy on CL.

Hope I'm not screwed if my lappy screws up
