Just upgraded eBay app and it asked if I wanted notifications turned on to receive alerts. Just an FYI

I'm just wondering, if I put something on my watch list and don't open the eBay app will I still get notifications for it?
Well never mind anyways I'm about to test it myself, plenty of auctions on eBay ending soon.
Edit: Well you don't need to open up the app (if you add to watching from a computer) to get the push notification, was ALMOST sure of it but wanted to be 100% sure. In other news the push notification sound is horrible. HORRIBLE!
