How much space do eBooks usually take up? Are Apple's books the same size as the iKindle books?

I have quite a few ebooks and normal fiction seems to run 500-700k. I do have a Dummies book that is 3.5M though.

Many of the Kindle books (AZW) I have run around that 500k area. Some are smaller. Joe Hill - Heart Shaped Box is 352k.

how do you sync an ebook on to it? say if i have a copy of dummies (in .pdf) i want on it. is it possible to sync it too? or is it through the store only?

sorry if its obvious. thanks in advance

You can transfer your PDF book over to your iPad
and use a PDF reader like GoodReader or similar.

^This basically. I have Goodreader but I place the PDFs in Dropbox and transfer them from there.

Otherwise, I converted the Kindle books to Epub and imported them into iTunes directly. I also have EPUB llbrary books (off the Overdrive system) that I've brought into iTunes.

Can you tell me where to find info on how to get an epub from the library into itunes or onto my ipad? Once it's in itunes can I put it on my ipad by syncing? Can I put it on my ibooks bookshelf? I don't have my ipad yet but want to be ready!

I'd love to be able to sync my books, but for some reason when I click SYNC on just the books tab, it tells me that it needs to erase all my movies, music, and tv shows that are on the iPad... Not sure why. So I just end up dragging and dropping my epub files from Finder into my iTunes library, and then dragging and dropping them from my library onto the iPad. Then they show up in iBooks on the iPad.

I use Calibre to convert PDFs to EPUBs.

Do you manually manage your music and videos? If so, I guess the ebooks have to be also manually managed, that is, dragged and dropped to iPad.
