macOS Eclipse Crashing on Mac!

hey guys i use eclipse to program java but lately it's been crashing. anyone know why? i redownloaded it but it still doesn't work.
version 10.7.5

Try creating and opening a new workspace. They can get corrupt and cause all sorts of problems.

Corrupted workspace for Eclipse

It's "day after the fair", I know, but I got accustomed to saving the workspace
whenever it was OK and had grown or changed.
So, on a regular basis I ZIP the .metadata directory tree to some place.
If it goes corrupted, all I have to do to unzip the 'good' workspace over it.
