I've been using Eclipse for Java development on OS X but it's very pokey compared with running under Windows (Bootcamp on the same machine). Has anyone compared using Netbeans vs Eclipse on OS X?

Thanks,
Cliff.

Since you've used Eclipse I'm sure you've already encountered the fact that the plugins seem to rely heavily on one another causing this weird dependency issue that degrades the performance. I think that notion is pretty well known. I think for this reason alone Netbeans is better but then again, it's not as feature-rich as Eclipse. Something I noticed when I was trying to figure out why Eclipse was starting to have issues was that others seem to use both. They start with the basics in Netbeans and move to Eclipse because Eclipse seems to do a few more things than Netbeans.

I think Netbeans can be the be-all-end-all application with a little more development time. I don't use either enough or extensively enough to know much more.
