Hey I am new to these forums, and I finally purchased an iPhone after much procrastinating and delay (mostly because I was waiting on a 16gb model). I have had it for a few days and it is by far the best phone that I have ever had. It also is, with a few minor quirks, the best PDA I have ever had (and I have had several). I have been able to figure out how to do most things, but I still have some questions. My current firmware is 1.1.3 (OTB 1.1.2 I upgraded as soon as I unboxed it) and I don’t know if there is a pre-existing issue but every so often I get an error message that says “Could not activate EDGE” I assume that is a problem in my area, (even though on the college campus I am on there is a cell tower on campus, with 5 bars nearly everywhere) but I figured I should still ask. Also, I have my IMAP e-mail set to auto-update every 15 minutes, but sometimes it never notifies me of new e-mail (even after it has been sitting in my inbox for 45 minutes or more) until I manually check it. Also, is there a way to set mail to check every 5 or 10 minutes? Any advice. Thanks in advance.

The EDGE issure is most likely at&t and not you, give them a call and see if they are experiencing outages (been a problem especially for goPhone users as of late).

They second is tricky and I've noticed it too but you can change the time that it checks the mail in the preference section of mail.
