EDGE speed examples

Has anyone seen any videos of the speed of EDGE on the iPhone.
Things like email, browsing, google maps? I checked youtube but haven't found any?

I just did an edge test - I only have 1 bar on the signal and I got 17kbit/s. When I moved and got 4-5 bars, I got around 60kbit/s.

my edge has been loading quicker than my blackjack did on 3g.

just ran a speed test on the 600k sample on dslreports.com and my speed came in at 180kbit/second but only 1.113s latency. This sounds slow, but every page I have opened (yahoo fantasy sports, google maps etc.) has opened rapidly.

I will try to find a way to test it or even post a video of it but to tell you the truth its really not that bad. I thought it was going to be a lot worse but it really isn't as bad as most people think. Also, the landscape keyboard is amazing. So much easier than using it in portrait mode.

actually, I have a samsung A900 with sprint which has EVDO and browsing with that is about as fast as using EDGE on my iPhone of that helps at all

OFFSPRING!!! That's the phone/service my husband has! Thanks for posting this. But, I beg of you.... could you run one of these speed tests on them? Course I realize it's not just the number, it's the 'phone' and how it handles things.... but still, it would be most helpful. Pretty please? EDIT: And, what state are you in?

I did the 1 mb speed test on my Treo 680 G3, in Orange (southern) CA:

150 kbit/sec

1.227s latency
55.407s d/l time

I just got 140 kb/sec on my iPhone, suburbs NYC.

I did three tests: 132, 176 and 164 kbit/sec on the iPhone in Rochester, NY (14618) with 5/5 bars using Edge.

FWIW: Standing 10 feet from my Netgear Wireless G router, I get 978 and 1136 kbit/sec with WiFi is enabled.
