Since 12PM today, Owensboro KY, both my Verizon lines (Galaxy S20 FE 5G, Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini) are dead. SIM card status reports as 'network--unknown' and 'IMS unregistered'. Carrier account page shows nothing wrong, or any issues with billing. My AT&T tablet lines are OK.

Attempting to dial any number from either Verizon line (even 611) gives an 'all circuits are busy try again later' error or hang up before connecting. Got bars, but no data, no SMS, no voice except wifi calling.

Network type lists as 1xRTT only, no sign of LTE, 3G, or 5G.

EDIT: Just came back up for me. Was out for 7 hours.

Verizon said that it was part of a 'network upgrade for your area' but it must have gone awry because it killed service for Indiana, Kentucky, and a few other states as far North as New York or Michigan. AT&T and T-Mobile were unaffected.

The comments on downdetector.com were....interesting.

The 'upgrade' must not have included VoLTE (we don't have it in Owensboro, KY yet) or 5G, since my S20FE still shows LTE or LTE+ (whatever that is) and voice calls are as awful as those on my Galaxy S4.

I had the same thing happen to me on T-Mobile once. It was out like 8 hours!
