I don't see an edit button in playlists. I also can't add custom images to my new playlists anymore. I have an iPhone 5. Does anyone else have this issue? Is there a workaround?

EDIT: Looks like you can manually add songs from the My Music tab to playlists by clicking the 3 dots. Doing it from the playlist itself allows you to remove it. I can't seem to find a way to edit the playlist icon though.

Now you can only add playlist in playlist main page by clicking "new".
You can then one by one add songs to this playlist by clicking three dots, "add to playlist", and repeat until you are done.
However you cannot edit playlist name in this beta now, and you cannot change playlist artworks by taking a picture or choosing a photo from your library.
I have found those things above until now.

Still in Beta 2, this is not possible. And if you dont have any Playlist on your Phone, there is no Way to create one.
If you add a Playlist via iTunes then there is the Option to Create a new one in the Music.app.

Currently, you can try to create a new one on iTunes with those songs, and delete the old one, with your silly description.

So it's a bug then and will likely get fixed for beta 3
