Edit SMS messages?

Is there a way to edit SMS messages on a jailbroken 1st gen phone?

i downloaded an app from Cydia, but it only allows me to delete the sender's messages. Nice, but now these SMS show tons of useless SMS from me.

so what exactly are you needing to do? you need to delete your own specific sms messages? you can use bitesms.

now i do, yes.

but my point was, is there an app where you can delete certain parts of the message? so if say i want to keep message 1, 2, 3, but messages 4, 5, 6 were from a different day and i don't want them anymore.

looks like bitesms can do that. thanks.
