I saved a Screen Recording to the Photos APP on my iPad and then I edited it in iMovie but when I export the edited Movie from iMovie and save it to the Photos APP it is not Full Screen as the Original Screen Recording Video ? It is like Trimmed from the Sides, so it is narrow not wide ? is there anything that I need to iMovie to save it as it was originally ? Why does iMovie not export in the same width as the original Video ?

What can I do for this ?

Try cropping the screen recording in the photos app to include only the image itself (i.e. remove any letter boxing) before you add it to iMovie.

You might need to restart iMovie before it will read the edited version of the screen recording.

Then do your edits in iMovie and export.

There is nothing to crop but !! The Screen Recording which has been saved to the Photos APP is without any Letterbox it is a Full Screen Video which occupies Full Screen on the iPad. So what do I Crop ? Everything is Part of the Video itself ?

Oh, that’s different. I‘m not sure you’ll be able to do what you want using iMovie then, at least not the iPadOS version. I think iMovie defaults to the 16:9 aspect ratio, but you’re editing a 4:3 video. iMovie will add letterboxing on the sides to make it 16:9, and I don’t think there’s another option via the iPad.

So you are saying the Screen Recording before the editing was 4:3 and after I edited it in iMovie it became 16:9 is that what you are saying ?

I think so. iMovie changed a 4:3 video to 16:9 by adding letterboxing on the left and right of the image.

You can edit the exported version of the video in the Photos app to crop out the letterboxing that iMovie added. So, edit the video you exported from iMovie, not the original screen recording. It’ll be slightly lower quality that way, though.

You are Correct I just checked the Metadata, the Original Clip of the Screen Recording had this as the Aspect Ratio 1920x1342 (1.431) Though I would like to know what is 1.431 ratio never ever heard or came across ever ?

And after editing in iMovie the Aspect Ratio Changed to 3840x2160 (16.9)

But what is 1.431 Ratio ?
