I have a 2015 5K iMac and a OWC Thunderbay IV set up as JBOD. There are 4 drives in it, and one of them I intend to edit 4K video taken with a Sony A7SII and another Sony camcorder (not sure of model). I'm wondering if and at what point the Thunderbolt cable will not be able to support the data from all of the drives? Does it only become an issue if all the drives are being used simultaneously? Would I be better off connecting one separate drive for editing via USB3?

I do not yet have the footage so I'm unable to do any tests.

Thanks.
