editing the lock screen

I listen to alot of books on my iphone at work. These files can be 5+ hours. I would like to be able to see where I am in the file on the lock screen. The touch controls for the ipod on the loc screen show the band and title of the mp3, is there a way to get an xxx:xx / xxx:xx on that screen?

The slider showing position in the file that's in the regular ipod screen would be nice too. I need that alot more than volume.
