Now that I have a iPad Pro and will be getting a pencil/keyboard, I'm thinking about using it for meetings at work.

Can you recommend an app for Word docs. A few years ago I gave up on Pages on my Mac because it altered the format when saving.

I realize I can use Word 365, just wondering if there is something else that is free?

Thanks for you help!

I tried a few others and ran into too many compatibility issues so settled on Office 365 and don't look back. Picked up two 5 licence subscription cards on Amazon when they were on sale for $60 and figured 2 years for the entire family for $120 was worth it.

Agree. Played around with some other apps, but landed on Office 365. Microsoft has been keeping it nicely up-to-date, and it is 100% compatable with Word on windows and mac, including revision tracking. Also gives you 1 TB storage on OneDrive.

Thanks for saving me a bunch of frustration!

One more question, does the pencil work with Word?

Yes, you can choose to let it always start with drawing, or to let it start with selecting/pointing in iOS’ settings.
Especially in excel using it to select tiny cells is much more convenient. At least for me with my big fat grubby hands :D

That's good to know!

How about note taking in a Word document?

Meh. (Assuming you want handwritten notes)
Choose GoodNotes or notability for that. Much better.
Or give Nebo a try. Your in for a surprise with that app. And it’s free....

For note taking I prefer OneNote.

Word and Pages are both fine, but have limits. Word and Pages you can't edit document styles. Pages won't let you have one page that's landscape while the rest are portrait. Word you cannot customize the document margins.
