Does Apple offer education/student pricing for things like the ipad/ipod?

Any of the ipods or related products (touch/ipad) don't have it.
Back when I was in college we used to get the edu discount on ipods but they figured out that they sell like hotcakes without the discount and it's all downhill from there.

i think that we used to get a good $20-25. Of course the ipod mini was a current model back then and it sold for $250 or $350 CDN

Sorry that I can't find it, but I thought I read something about a $20 discount for educational institutions when purchased in packages of 10 at a time.
So the 16GB WiFi model would be $479 in package of 10.
I have not heard anything about an educational discount for individual purchases and don't expect to see one.

This is correct. Both the iPad and Apple Care get a discount for educational purchases from institutions in packs of 10. No individual discount.

I actually hadn't seen that video yet. That is pretty impressive. But, what about being able to take notes on the side, or being able to access your schools website's downloads. I bet that goes across lots of tablets, but i do want those books haha.
To clarify this statement, the discount only applies to institutional purchases, i.e. the institution is the one doing the buying- presumably for official educational needs. It would not apply to say 10 students who got their money together and ordered a 10-pack of iPads.

Don't bother about taking notes, at least not notes with symbols and graphs.
-First, there is yet to be a handwriting-aiming note-taking app.
-Second, using iAnnotate and SketchBook Pro as substitutes I tried really hard the last few days to take notes, but the screen is simply not designed for precise writing, even with a Pogo stylus. The iPad particularly have difficulty detecting dots.
So in the specific area of note-taking, a Windows tablet is still better. I serious believe this is why Apple has not been promoting the iPad as an educational device, even when it form factor cries for being a e-textbook.
