Educational upgrade 10.4 Tigre to 10.6 Snow Lepord

I work at a school and we have Tiger 10.4 on a bunch of Mac Mini's. Adobe CS5 just came out and we would like to upgrade to that. Come to find out it only works on 10.6 Snow Leopard. Apple will not sell us 10.5 at educational pricing to then upgrade to 10.6. They will only sell 10.6 at full price.

Does anyone know of a place that will sell us 10.5 or have another option for us? We need around 55 copies.

Ok, it's Apple's license. Why do you think they would allow another business to do what they won't do? But yes, there are other options, just not legal ones.

Well we called Apple and they said it would be ok if we could find a vendor that still has 10.5

yes you can try to find a vendor who sells you 55 licenses ....but it wont be cheaper then from apple , if i look at the ebay prices here for a single or family license they go up in value rather then down , the demand is huge for leopard ,
sells like water in the desert people are willing to pay any price to get a license

BTW the $29 10.6 Snow Leopard upgrade disks will install on any intel Mac (10.4 or 10.5 OS installed).

If you want to be 100% legal than you need to buy 10.5 and put it in a closet.

www.megamacs.com has several versions of 10.5 - but the cheapest is $190 - it would be cheaper to buy straight (non-upgrade) versions of 10.6.

You probably can't. As noted by MacHamster, you can find it on eBay. You won't find it at Best Buy or even OldSoftware.com (if such a site existed). You can look, and, by all means, if the above proves to be wrong, post it here for the benefit of all.
