I have a 15"PB, of which I bent the prongs on the power charger. At work we have a bunch of iBooks, so for now I am using one of those. I know that the chargers have different watt outputs and was wondering if that could cause damage to my battery.
Well, the iBook charger has a lower output from memory meaning that you may end up running down the battery despite it being plugged in. This could shorten the battery's life-span.
Although I think the most damage can occur when you use a charger that has a higher output than the computer was designed for (PowerBook adaptor with an iBook), I'd still look at getting a replacement from Apple if possible.

Actually the powerbooks 65watt chargers are compatible with ibooks even though they come with 45watt chargers. Also they only sell 65 watt chargers for both the ibook and powerbook.
Interesting. I've seen a few iBook batteries die from being given 65W chargers but they weren't Apple's. Does this mean Apple's 65W charger somehow drops back to 45W for iBooks maybe?

Ive read that when the ibook is used with the 65watt charger it just charges faster and dont know about 3rd party adapters though. The ibook may have been designed to be used with a 65watt charger and apple just used the 45watt one because it charged faster?
