So I used the EFI and SMC updaters and then when i went to boot into XP it didn't work. It would go to the "i'm having trouble do you want to start in safe mode" screen, and whatever option I picked it would end up back at that screen.

So, since I had nothing critical in the partition (use it only for gaming) I wiped the partition, repartitioned and started the boot camp install process. About ten minutes in I'm getting something very much like a blue screen of death. I tried it twice, and still no dice.

Any ideas?

I would have posted it, except i have no idea why it worked and most people couldn't do it anyway.

I did a full install of XP x64, which worked. Then I installed 32bit XP Pro and it worked. So now it's working.

I would be curious as to any theories as to why.
