EFI update could (hypothetically) allow 4GB RAM in May 07 MacBooks?

Okay, I don't know anything about this sort of thing, so maybe someone can clarify for me:

While it's great that Apple finally matched the rest of the competition with the updated integrated graphics, MacBook owners who have the May '07 revision should not be too dismayed. The updated graphics is nice, but let's not kid ourselves, it's still not good enough for playing games that require a non-integrated card. Likewise, the update in FSB is going to be largely unnoticeable in anything but acute benchmark tests, because the RAM is still running at the same speed. I do like that Apple has finally set the EFI to accept 4 GB of RAM, I just hope that they include an update to existing MacBook (and MacBook Pro) owners so that we can do the same, seeing as the previous motherboard had this capability. Then, in a perfect world, Apple would let me change the amount of dedicated graphics memory in OS X to what it can be in Windows XP or Vista.

sorry, its just that this question is asked all the time, and seeing as how youve been a member for over a year now i just thought you might have seen it before

If I had seen it -- therefore meaning I would have known that this was false -- I wouldn't have asked about it.

The source of the initial quote is fairly legitimate, so I'm surprised to discover it's obviously a misinformed quote.
 
It's not personal, DA, and it's not asking a question that annoys other members.

It's starting a new thread that has been answered many times on MR already, and is answered in the Guides, which are a permanent reference to frequently asked questions.

So go ahead and ask questions, but do a Search or look through the Guides first.

I don't understand technical aspects so well, so I wouldn't have made the connection myself.
