Hi is this possible, I really don't want to spend the money on a new iMac if i can just get a decent GPU connected. I hear a lot of good thing about the eGPU but I'm looking for a simple plug and play solution. Any tips would be great be for i drop 2.5K on a 2017 iMac.

It isn't plug-and-play but I occasionally run an RX 460 eGPU on my 21.5" 2011.

- There are no plug-and-play solutions in Sierra (kext mods and system restarts required)
- Its too soon to say when/what will be plug in play with High Sierra. (I think current dev release is 470-580s only)
- eGPUs work best with an external display.

Thanks Padams, I would probably only need this in Windows 10 for gaming. Would that make it easier?
