Error: "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request" when switching to the Sync-tab in MobileMe Control Panel. The error also occurs every time MobileMe tries to sync. Syncing works and I just want to get rid of this annoying message that pops up frequently. Apple support has no solution. I re-installed Office, iTunes, MM-Control Panel, Airtunes-Utility without success.

Setup:
Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-Bit
Office 2010 Prof. 64-Bit
iTunes 9.2
MobileMe Control Panel 1.6

THX in advance

What are you syncing? That's a MAPI error relating to not having a default email profile. Do you have an email account set up in Outlook?

Thank you for your reply :) I've two E-Mail accounts: MobileMe and an IMAP-account @bluehost. All E-Mail related features are ok (e.g. sending, receiving). I'm syncing contacts & calendars With Outlook and bookmarks with Safari. Syncing is also working. I just want to get rid of this annoying error message.

Cool! So you have those two accounts set up in Outlook so we know that works. I've had two issues in the past, one was a corrupt Windows registry error, and one was a bad file. I had forgotten what I did (it's a drag getting old!) but I did a Google search and it jogged my memory.

With Outlook open, click on "Help" and then "Run Office Diagnostics" and let it run. Many people have said it will come back and say that no errors were found, but the pop-ups went away.

The other, more difficult solution is in this thread:

Good luck! :)

Good idea, thx. So I did a clean Windows 7 64-Bit installation under VMWare and installed

- Outlook 2010 64-Bit
- iTunes 9.2
- MobileMe Control Panel 1.6

configured only my MobileMe account and hit the same error

Any ideas :apple: ?????

I'm going to go out on a limb and place the blame with 64-bit Outlook. If possible, install the 32-bit version and see whether the problem still occurs.

64-bit Office is intended for developers and might be buggy when it comes to integrating with other apps.

You might be right :)

Could anyone please confirm a working Outlook 2010 64-bit & MobileMe 1.6 installation? ;)
