Hi,

I have an external drive mounted for backing up files using ChronoSync. From the desktop I attempt to eject the drive. In most instances, after ejecting the drive the icon remains on the desktop but is not visible in finder.

Has anyone else seen this issue with Yosemite?

Cheers,

Don Barar

Mavericks worked perfectly. Anyone know how to resolve.?

Try restarting Finder. Command-Option-Escape will bring up a window that'll let you do that. The appearance bug you describe, or a similar one, has been around since Snow Leopard.

Hi Patron,

Thanks for your help. That was more convenient than rebooting. My first Mac/OSX experience was Mavericks and do not recall this being and issue. Wow, Around since Snow Leopard. I would have thought Apple would have corrected by now.

This works! However, I would suggest that you also go into Disk Utility in the Recovery Disk and make sure it is truly dismounted. If it isn't, you can dismount from there.
