Good morning everybody,

I am hoping someone could point me to the right direction as to why my MacBook Pro restarts automatically after watching 20mns of Netflix regardless of the browser I am using (Chrome, Safari or Firefox). I then get a Kernel Panic log but can't figure out what is wrong.

I have recently upgraded the MacBook Pro (Mid 2009) with a 525GB Crucial SSD and 8GB PC3 10600 Crucial RAM. I have enabled Trim and Set Noatime Flag.

I can watch a movie on Amazon but if I watch one on Netflix, the MacBook Pro restarts after 20mns of watching. Here is what I have tried so far:

- Updated all browsers to latest versions: same issue
- Updated all Apps + OS: same issue
- restart in Safe Mode to clear the cashes: same issue
- reset SMC and PRAM: same issue
- re seat the RAM: same issue
- tested the RAM on another MAC, the RAM is fine
- clear my browsers cashes and history: same issue

I am running out of ideas... I am attaching the logs to this post, maybe someone can make sense of it all. That would be much appreciated.

Well given that you have a 2009 Macbook Pro, and you are using 2011 Macbook Pro RAM I would start by fixing that. 2009 MBPs use 1066MHz PC8500. You can use faster memory, and it will down cycle, but it will often cause issues. I have seen this more times than I can count. Start there and then worry about other options.

Cheers!
