Hi. I installed El Capitan about a week ago. I had a ton of trouble opening any CS6 apps. I was instructed to download a java package from the Apple site. I did that but could never get the pkg file to install. I restored to a Yosemite backup and then I was able to install the java that I couldn't with El Capitan. Do you think it will be safe for me to upgrade back to El Capitan now? Will that java installation needed to open CS6 still be installed?

Probably you will have to reinstall Java. Are you sure you did download the right pkg? What was the error?

It would just never stop validating the java.pkg that i was trying to install. I tried to install it a bunch of times in El Capitan but it always hung up at the validating part. The same .pkg installed fine when i went back to Yosemite.

I used the apple link I was directed to after CS6 Illustrator wouldn't open up at all.
