El Capitan slow after clean install

Hello!

I have a MacBook Air 13" 2015 I7/256/8GB RAM

I got my Mac with 10.10 and when El Capitan was released I installed it - everything was fine and smooth as a butter...

After a while I decided to do a clean install with El Capitan...

So, I went into recovery mode, earased the old partition and install a "fresh" El Capitan, AND NOW EVERYTHING IS LAGGY AND SLOW.

For example when you move the mouse cursor on the dock the animation are laggy and slow frame rate.
When you surf the Internet and scroll it becomes slow when there are photos and stuff...

I run some benchmarks like geekbench and novabench and Black Magic HD test = it all looks great!

Today, I tried to reinstall El Capitan again - but it is the same! Slow and laggy.

Do you suggent trying to install el capitan from a USB thumb maybe? Or maybe to install 10.10 again and upgrade instead of "clean install"?

Just an idea, every time you clean install, the OS has to start from scratch indexing everything, creating caches, etc. Maybe it'll settle down in a few days?

My experience of using el Capitan is this:
I install yosemite, and use it for a while. When El Capitan first developer beta out, I download it, upgrade, and then, I just upgrade from one beta to another, from one official version to another.

Well, to speak it shortly, I upgrade from Yosemite, rather than doing clean install.

My configuration is i5 MacBook Air 11", with 4GB ram and 128GB SSD. El Capitan is not smooth like butter, but at least not so laggy.

1.when i bought it a few months ago i was amazed how fast it was compared to my old macbook....
it was fast right from the beggining....

2.also, to my knowlge, SPOTLIGHT is the biggest problem after doing a clean install - and i disable it right after the installation ends.

3. I DONT HAVE EXTERNAL DRIVE CONNECTED TO IT.

4. I ALSO DID AN "APPLE HARDWARE TEST" TO CHECK IF THERE IS AN HARDWARE ISSUE - BUT IT CAME OUT GREAT.

Just give spotlight time to index everything after install. Have patience!

I agree with the other posters. Let your Mac do it's housekeeping: Indexing, etc.

If the problem persists, then try clearing PRAM and NVRAM.

I clean installed my three Macs and none of them were noticeably slower when they were doing the first initial index & File Vault encryption. Something's not right.

i just did a restore from 1 month old time machine backup(it is a yosemiti+ el capitan update backup) - and everything is great again!!!

this is very strange!!!

i think ill give up on a clean install. el capitan is still "fresh" and buggy.....

I had the same issue. Upgrade of El Cap from Yosemite was running smooth. Decided to do a clean install to clear out a lot of older stuff. I let the clean install finish disk encryption before installing apps, etc.

The animations in the clean install noticeably studder. Particularly mission control with multiple desktops. It all works, just not smooth like I've been used to since Mavericks.

UPDATE - just got back on my Mac after not using it for a couple days. Animations as smooth as ever. Clean install was a week ago, guess patience really is a virtue!
