Just switched back to my Yosemite partition as I can't get El C to connect to the internet,
now when i look in startup Disc in system prefs, El C is no longer displayed.

any ideas please.

Corrupted install. Run the latest pkg update again or reinstall from the App.

Hi thanks for replying.

If I restart the mac and hold the option key to see available boot disks, El Capitan shows up there and will boot up, and interestingly shows up in the system Pref/startup disc, but if i boot back into yosemite it is not visible as a startup disc option, although it was visible earlier in the afternoon.

Maybe old system doesn't recognise new system.
