hello:

is there a set of dates related to the support lifecycle of el capitan? specifically, i am interested in when the os will no longer receive security updates.

any help is appreciated.

thanks,
j

Generally speaking Apple tends to continue providing security updates the previous two versions of OS X. Assuming that trend continues El Capitan should receive security updates for another 2 years from now.

thanks, bodonnell.

does apple eventually publish a hard support date for these?

Looks like Apple cut off Mavericks a tad early....Even though Sierra has not been released, Mavericks 10.9.5 did not receive the latest security update.
