El Captain search problems

I am running El Captain and having problems with the search function. It seems that it won't search any of my external drives. I saw a work around where you add and remove the drive in spotlight to get it to index them again, but that didn't work. Please help!

My solution:

Forget about Spotlight.
(I even went so far as to disable it)

Instead, there are two small "freeware" apps that are very handy:
- EasyFind
- Find Any File

I suggest you download these and give them a try...
