I decided to show some of the “Early Access” game on iMovie, so I put together a quick video. Everything was done on my iPad Pro. This game was highly anticipated by millions, only it is missing all of the key elements that made previous Elder Scrolls titles so much fun!

Thanks for video. I tried logging in yesterday but never got past the part where it says you have to turn notifications on. I exited and deleted the game so I never actually got to play. I don’t want notifications on and I couldn’t figure out how to bypass it. Seems I made the right choice because from your video it doesn’t seem like a game I’d like either.

That happen to me to, it’s because so many people were logging on at once Bethesda limited the game to a certain amount of players.

Is the game fun? Is there any element of skill?

It’s just alright, you can’t jump, you can’t sneak, you cannot loot bodies, you cannot search for hidden items because there aren’t any at all. You can’t evade a fight, and you cannot run around an enemy either, you can’t use your weapon unless your in a fight. No open world layout, exploration doesn’t exist, you cannot free roam. You cannot pick up items unless your health is low, and once you pick it up, your health regenerates. So, no saving food for later in your inventory, to heal when you need to. The fighting feels like tic-tac-toe.

They should have just put Skyrim on iOS.. or something like it maybe Fallout 3 lol. Those games are around 5 to 7.5GB before HD texture packs. They should have ported them over.

Big disappointment for Me. I want to love it but it’s just bad lol.

Agree to turn them on and then turn them off in settings.

Have been able to play for the first time today... Before I just got a message that access was limited. Today it proposed an 800MB download and now it works. Must say I like it a lot on my iPhone X, can't wait to try it on my iPad tonight.

Im around level 14 so far. So I’ve given the game a solid chance. It is entertaining, and fun at times. Only, I dunno why Bethesda wanted to build such a limited game. And now they are riding on that excuse “it’s a mobile game what did you expect” Well, Ark Survival is a mobile game too, and so is PUBG and you can walk anywhere you want too, with large maps to explore and find things everywhere.
[doublepost=1554421121][/doublepost]When Bethesda released “Fallout Shelter” which is a very very low budget game. Millions and millions of people were playing and paying lol. Bethesda saw potential in mobile gaming I suppose for financial reasons, and they designed the easiest game that could bring in a lot of money. Maybe ElderScrolls 6 will be on iOS with a mobile version. We’ve got the gpu power, we’ve got the cpu power, even our phones are running around 3GB-12GB of ram, storage is not an issue ranging from 32GB-1024GB. Maybe it’ll take a few more years. But hopefully We will all see a open world, RPG game on our mobile devices soon enough.

The premium mobile gaming genre is on its way, although it is at full glacier speed it feels like lol.

Maybe it’s just me, but Bethesda took way to many shortcuts here.

I'm lvl9 now, and while it had nice graphics and the gameplay works fine on a touch device, I feel like it's getting too repetitive too fast... We'll see where it goes since this still is "early access".

The view is laggy when trying to look in a different direction. It doesn't have gyro support. Gameplay seems very basic and I don't understand how it is supposed to be fun.

It is nothing close to normal ElderScrolls titles. I’ve always loved Bethesda! I’ve had a lot of fun playing there games while growing up. I cannot count how many computers I’ve built and video cards I’ve burnt in hundreds of hours playing these titles.

When you level up and learn some spells and abilities, the gameplay becomes ok for a mobile game. They can't make it more complicated for a touch device...

Sure they could. pubgm and fortnite have complex controls and are doing ok for themselves.

I'm totally with you. There are plenty of great high quality iPad games, and a lot of fantastic ports of older console games that many people (like me) never got the chance to play. We need those to keep coming!

Thanks for the review, definitely sounds like a hard pass!!!

I guess this is what Bethesda came up with when they realised it would be difficult to monetise Skyrim for a mobile re-release.

Well, the hardware in my iPad Pro is certainly a lot more powerful than my Nintendo Switch. A12X, 6GB of ram, 1TB of storage. It runs so butter smooth on this little switch, they could certainly port it over to iPad Pro models. I imagine millions of people would pay the full $60 bucks just to play Skyrim on iOS. I know I would pay that.

Bethesda is really busy working on something, there time is consumed on whatever it is. We don’t know, we can only assume Elder Scrolls 6 is in the making.
