Hello All,
I have recently bought a Macbook pro M1 max (32gb RAM and 1TB SSD) laptop. I am feeling a stong electrical sensation from the laptop skin while charging with Duckhead connector(with no mains ground in the plug) but if I use a long charging cable with Mains ground pin in it then there is no electrical sensation at all. I know it is usual with duckhead charger but I feel it is a lot to feel while working on a laptop. I went and compared a similar spec M2 Max macbooks in Apple store and the electrical sensation was really mild in the M2 Max version.
Has anyone own a Macbook pro M1 Max and have you ever did this electrical sensation comparison? I wonder if my Macbook is faulty to have such a high sensation. Thanks.

Actually I tried the duckhead charger in the apple store as well and I felt the same sensation but the M2 Max in their stores didnt have the same amount of sensation, This is why I am getting confused.

I have had both M1 and M2 MB Pros and did not have issues with either. However, I never use the Magsafe charger or cables. Rather I use USB C chargers from various brands that I have lying around the house.

Get an outlet tester.

Of course the display units won't have this issue. You can be certain that they took care to ground them as otherwise who would buy a Macbook after testing it in store.
