So is anybody setting their iMac on something to raise the computer off their desk?

I don't really want to wall mount it and didn't see anything that jumped out at me when searching the net.

The first priority would be to raise the iMac but still be stable. Adjustable height would be a great plus. Something that matches the aluminum iMac would be icing on the cake!

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Per my post, I really don't want to wall mount it.

I was aware of the keyboard shelf unit but 1" isn't going to do much. I'm hoping for somewhere around 3-5".

Thanks

What kind of desk is it sitting on?

You could always fabricate a 'shelf' so to speak, matching the desk material of course. This way you could elevate it to the height you wanted, and it would not look like an add-on!

If the desk is wide enough you could create a keyboard 'hideaway' with two small drawers on each side, or scrap the drawer idea and just have two open compartments. The idea would be to have two vertical supports on either side of the keyboard hideaway to give added support to the shelf.

I would add a pic, but don't have easy means to create one.

Over the years, out of need I have created many such things. In fact I am currently designing 3 custom computer desks for a small computer room. One of the three desks will hold a 24" iMac.

Yeah, I've already come up with an idea for a shelf that will match my desk. It will be fairly inexpensive too. I was hoping to avoid that simply because I'm a major do-it-yourself'r so I already have a seemingly endless list of projects that are either already started or "on the list".
