Eliminating side bar with email

I recently started getting my email to show up on the right hand side of my screen.
It has happened a few times in the last two weeks. Previously, I x'd out of it somewhere and once I expanded the page from the left and it disappears.
But it happened again today, but I can't get rid of it.
I have tried all the links and tabs.
How do I get rid of it forever?
If I want to see my email, I'll open the link.
It has not always been this way, only recently.
I don't know what changed.
I have not adjusted any thing.

I don't now what happened but it disappeared....
