iPod eMac/Nano

I have a friend who just received a new Nano as a gift but her eMac doesn't recognize it. I believe they are still using Panther/OS 10.3

Suggestions?

Still running Panther, huh? They do realize it came out almost seven years ago, right? They need to upgrade their eMac to at least Tiger (Leopard would be better).
