When I try to verify my @me.com address for my iCloud me.com apple Id, it says it can't verify because It's already verified for another apple id. But that's not true. Anyone having this issue or know what to do?

Go to appleid.apple.com and click "Find my account" under "not sure if you have an apple id"? or something like that....

Put in your name, and the email address is says that it can't verify.....see if it finds anything.

In my case, I found out that the email address I was using was already listed as a verified email address under my old iTunes store account....

I tried several times unsuccessfully to remove the email address from the old account so I could use it on my actual MobileMe/iCloud account, and it wouldn't delete. Finally I got it to delete, but it still says that it's already in use. So their system is real jacked up right now.

I saw on another thread someone was able to get help through MobileMe support. It had to be escalated and it took like 3 weeks, but eventually they were able to "free" the email address to be used again as a verified address for an Apple ID account.

Email address is already verified for another Apple ID.

Same issue here.
I realized that the email was in use by my old iTunes account as well, logged into it thru the apple id portal and deleted the email. I am still getting the same message when I log back into the second id account. :(

Does this happen only when trying to verify a NEW me.com account or does it also happen when you try to migrate from mobile me to iCloud?

My iTunes account is a non-existent email as the name ID with a "primary" email contact that's verified as my me. com address.

But I already sync my contacts, mail, etc with my me.com email.

That's the problem right there, on your old iTunes account, your me.com address is listed as the primary email address. Once that me.com address is associated with an Apple ID (in this case, your old iTunes account), it can't be used as a verified address for any other Apple ID.

You'd think that you could go in and delete the address from the old Apple ID, but we're all finding out that even if you do that, it still says that it's already in use....

grrrrrr......

It won't affect your ability to sync contacts, bookmarks, etc, but if you try to use iMessage or FaceTime with your mobile me account, then use the mobile me email address as an address you'd like to be contacted at for those services, it will say it's already matched to another account (your old iTunes account).

make sense? I know this is so freakin' confusing.....Apple really has a mess on their hands.....

So has anyone confirmed it still takes 3 weeks after deleting it from one ID to use it another?

This is ridiculous. And the only reason I have my me.com address as the primary email on that iTunes ID is that months ago, when I stopped using the old earthlink address that was originally associated with that account, I needed to enter in an email that would reach me (for iTunes receipts, etc.) So I use my mail email: me.com. Out of curiosity, I just logged on to my me.com ID to see what the primary email is: it's UNverified and of course, I can't verify it for the reasons you've stated.

The fact that I have to have a separate account for iCloud and iTunes is sloppy enough. But now I'm learning my me.com account won't be fully functional?

Does anyone really think Apple will change their policies with regard to Apple IDs? i kind of doubt it.

Sorry to chime back in, but what about this person's solution (see link)? Can't I just log in to facetime with my mobile me address? Or are you saying, iCloud is not going to let me if it's verified to another of my Apple ID's (Mind you, all these issues have kept me from upgrading to ios5, so I can't try out the suggestion - I want to make sure everything is smoothed out before migrating):

YES!!!!

I removed my me.com email address from my non-iCloud apple id about 5 hours ago, but still couldn't verify the email address on my iCloud id. However in the past 30 mins it's magically become verified! Now I can use FaceTime and iMessage :)

I ran into this problem today, after waiting for ages on support chat (what a queue) Ian helped me with this problem. Im not sure if he knew he had fixed it, but somehow it magically became verified :)

If only Find my friends started working now ...

I'm in same boat. Won't let me verify the email, I released it from my other account yesterday. After 2 hours in chat, they said they will have to raise it to another level and get back to me within 48 hours.

Grrrr, I can't use iMessage or FaceTime or anything

yay!

mine is now verified.

this is what i did:

my old apple ID was just a username, not an email address, with a verified gmail email. I changed the old apple id to be the gmail address, and within 10 minutes my me.com apple id was verified!

it all now works

Why exactly does the me.com email have to be verified to use it with Facetime? What would happen if I try to sign up for Facetime with my mobile me email but left it linked as the primary email to my iTunes ID? Wouldn't it still work? Both accounts are me. Note that my entire family uses that iTunes ID (which I plan to use for purchases with the cloud), so I don't want that to be an issue.

I'm having an issue like this too,
I've got 2 accounts, say, kirk@gmail.com & kirk@me.com
The @gmail.com email has an additional email of the @me.com, so I can't verify the real @me.com account because it's in use in the @gmail.com.

But, whenever I try to delete the additional email in the @gmail.com account, it does nothing. Just refreshes the page and it's still there.

I've also tried just editing the email address with another one, but nope.

Tried in Safari, Chrome, FireFox - Mac, PC, iPhone, iPad.

I was on Chat support for a few hours before the guy told me the case had been escalated and somebody would contact me (hmm).

It's driving me nuts! I can't verify it, so I can't use Find my Friends, iMessage etc

I hope somebody from Apple does contact me back, but so far nothing. I've been trying for days too.
