Email deleted on mail.app doesn't delete on iphone?

I have my iphone and mail.app both synced to my exchange account and everything works fine except when it comes to deleting. My email is pushed, messages are showed as read, and when I delete them from the iphone they are deleted in the mail app. However the reverse is not true, is there a certain setting i'm missing? Thanks!

Go to the settings in Mail and select accounts. Pick the account and then go to the mailbox behaviors tab and set the trash setting to what you want.

I've tried playing around with the trash settings to no avail. Can you please tell me what to set it to to have email deleted on mail.app also deleted on the iphone?
