Email settings - image viewing question

I am leery of downloading all images in all emails. I know spammers can get info just by you viewing images.

I know you can turn them all off in settings, but is there a way to load images for specific emails in the email app after setting this?

On my blackberry, you just hit Menu and Load Images for a specific email. Is there something similar for the iPad?

Only if they are remote images. If they are attachments, then no.

no, but why don't you learn not to open malicious spam email in your junk mailbox.

BlackBerry has this function because it was meant to save data usage on their device and on the BES(yours or hosted) /the BIS servers. A cost saving feature. It was not created for security purposes in the first place.

That feature you want is also one of the most common nuisance with any new BlackBerry device.

Get a spam filter and learn to not open spam. How hard is that?

Gee, thanks for the non-answer. Someone pee in you wheaties is morning?

If you read my initial post, you would see that you can have either images on or off in the settings. If you have them off, then you cannot see images in 'safe' or 'known sender' emails.

If you set images to on, then you automatically download images from everyone, including spammers. I wondered if there was a feature to load images contained in specific emails. No matter how many spam filters you have, some always gets through.

But thank you for the lecture on blackberries and security and data savings. Very enlightening.

I thought his answer was exactly what you needed.
My own is more blatant, don't be an idiot and give your email address out to websites, companies, or to people you don't know! oh my god, no unwanted email

But I guess you are pass that logic, so you are stuck with answer 1, learn to handle spam.
