Hi,

I did a clean install of Sonoma (using OCLP). Most things appear to work ok, but because I did a clean install my email accounts and settings are not setup correctly. I thought these were saved in the iCloud and restored automatically? At least that's seems to be what has happened the past. I have a Mac Book Air which has the settings and accounts, is there anyway I can Import these settings? I hope I don't have to re-enter the accounts (20+) manually!?!?

All the Best
Dave

External email accounts won’t automatically reappear due to security as you’ll have to authenticate with those external services again.

I know I shouldn’t ask but why do you need 20+ email accounts?

Actually now I come to look, some are now defunct, there are 11 active. They are for various domains that I own and also a number of email accounts of companies I work for from time-to-time.

Ok, they won't automatically reappear, but is there a way to manually Export the settings on the Monterey/MacBook Air and Import them into the Sonoma/MacPro?

Perhaps someone with more knowledge than me will reply with the answer you need, but...

... I think "the solution" you're going to need is to get a clipboard, paper and pencil, and start "working your way through" these accounts one-at-a-time.

Some you may be able to handle fairly quickly by using the "internet" settings panel.
Others may have to be done "completely by hand".

TIP:
On the old Mac, go to Mail settings and take screenshots (use "command-shift-4").
Then, print them out.
Yes, it's work.
But sometimes, you just have to do... what you have to do.

Just copy the mail folder from ~/Library/Mail on the Air to the new Mac. But be aware, that will copy only the accounts and emails found on the Air at the time you copy the folder.

You will also likely have to re-enter the passwords for all the accounts (for security purposes, I don't believe those are retained in the copy).

Copying that folder manually like this ensures that you keep any emails you have stored in the "On My Mac" section of the email list and not just the IMAP emails stored in the cloud server (like Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, etc.)
