I have two Gmail accounts and my work email (exchange) on the iPhone. I want to add the long work email signature which includes work contact details and the long boring legal disclaimer.

I only want the signature to appear on the work emails and not the email sent from my Gmail accounts.

Anyone know if it's possible to limit the signature to only one of the email accounts? Thanks.

To my knowledge, the signature is unique to the phone, not the accounts. The same is true on the BlackBerry. It would be nice to have separate signatures. Because I'd like to be able to add a boring legal blurb to by work e-mails. Because I can't I only use my iPhone to contact people within the company, where the legal statement doesn't apply.

Unfortunately, the signature is attached to the end of every e-mail. What I do is delete (or amend) the sig when I have to, but that's far from an ideal solution.

Not true at all. On a blackberry, you can set different sigs for each account. My 8820 that's sitting in my bag (no love since I got the 3g) has three email accounts - 2 gmail, one exchange, each of which has a different signature.

Is it possible for an smtp server to attach a signature at the server level? If so, this is a possible solution.

I'm getting my fact from people who use various versions, and they can't have multiple signatures.

I think SMTP servers can add signatures, but unless you are operating the server, I don't think it would be easy to setup.

You bring up a good point, perhaps I can speak with our work IT dude to see if it's possible to automatically add a signature to work emails sent from the iPhone (signature added at the exchange server level).

Maybe this is a possibility.

Any update on this issue?

I removed my gmail account because I'd rather not have to edit my exchange signature every time i send a personal email on gmail.

This oversight illustrates a lack of foresight for corporate users.:(
