Using the stock iOS Mail app I no longer receive notifications from VIP contacts when I receive an email from them. My Mail notification settings are only set for badges. But in the past VIP contacts would trigger sound and screen Lock Screen when receiving emails from them. But no longer. Thanks for the help.

Ensure that your VIP contacts are still listed in the VIP list within the Mail app. Open the Mail app, go to the Mailboxes tab, scroll down to the VIP section, and confirm that your desired contacts are still marked as VIPs. If they aren't, add them back to the VIP list

I just verified and they were there.
I have attached screenshots of my settings for Mail notifications.

. In most email clients, you can do this by going to the Settings or Preferences menu and selecting Notifications or Alerts. From there, you should be able to find an option to turn on notifications for VIP emails.
