Hello All,
I have an issue occurring in my MacBook Air. I want to take backup for my mails that is configured in apple mail on my mac. but when i export mailbox in external drive and after that import to other macbook it just show last one month mails as it just show 7000 mails but i have 75000 mails.
I am also unable to find library where all mails are stored as of library icon is not showing on my mac and i am unable to bring full backup.

Please someone expert help me about this...

Thanks,

Regards,

Sounds like you did the correct thing, Mail app > File > select mailbox (not folder) > right click > Export Mailbox.

The only long shot suggestion I can think is that it takes quite a long time for a large mailbox (hours), and until the process is complete it says INBOX.partial.mbox. When complete it says INBOX.mbox.

The user library is hidden by default but there are number of ways you can make it visible. The easiest is to click on Finder > Go, then click Option key and Library will appear in the dropdown. Clicking on Library will open it in a Finder window. Drag the Library item to the sidebar to have it available at all times in future.

FWIW, exporting mail archives and importing them to another Mac or restoring if recovering from a failure works well in my experience though as my mail is all iCloud/IMAP I never do it like this, I just sign in with my Apple ID and it all downloads fresh.

I do make periodic archives with by exporting as a 'corblimey' backup, but my first line backup is an app called Mail Archiver X which gives me a browsable searchable database of all my emails. It does this in the background on a schedule. The exported Apple archives are not useful until reimported.
