Emails disappearing from AOL online Mail but still on phone

Hello,

I have a free AOL online mail account. I have this account synced to my phone through the Apple mail app. For some reason, emails keep disappearing on my AOL account but are still on my Iphone 6. Anyone know why this is and how to keep emails from disappearing from the AOL account?
