Emails not showing up in notification bar.

I don't if it's suppose to be like this. But emails aren't showing up in either the lock menu or the notification bar. Can anyone shed some light?

you need to goto notifications and enable for mail. for some reason, by default its not enabled.

I can see the rationale here.. Email tends to come in often and you don't always have to read it right away. Just the fact that you have email is all you really need to know.

I'm getting the emails, they just aren't showing up in the notification bar.

Go into Settings >> Notifications >> scroll down to Mail >> turn it on.

Didn't work either. It has worked before, so maybe it's just a temporary problem?

Okay, so I tried to test it and it worked. However, the alerts always come up as Alerts and not Banners (I set the notifications as banners). How weird.

EDIT: Sorry, I was stupid. Everything's fixed now. The notifications are initially styled as alerts but then once it fades away, it becomes a banner notification.
