Embedded Queries

Simple question for you all today:

What is an embedded query?

A client asked me today and I'm at a bit of a loss here. Is it just like grabbing something from a database?

Umm, probably partly depends on the context. One thought is that you embed part of the query statement in the POST information of a request, but it may be something much simpler than this, or more complicated. It may also be someone who's trying to use buzz words to sounds tech savvy.
