Have a new I pad pro 10.5 cellular..Purchased full unlocked and not tied to any carrier. I am currently signed up for the Tmobile $10 for 5 mos plan. I have my cellular plan with ATT and am most likely going to go to them for the $10 a month plan once my T-Mobile runs out in 5 mos...I have been told by both Apple and ATT that once I sign up for the ATT service it will lock the embedded sim card to ATT and I will not be able to choose another carrier that is offered on the embedded sim card... I will be traveling overseas later this year and would just like to pick a plan thru "Always online" or Gigsky which is offered on the embedded sim.

Can anyone actually confirm if I will be able to access these or will my sim be locked out due to using ATT?

I’m pretty sure it’s the case with the 10.5” as well. It should contain a secondary sim slot. Just get an att SIM card and put it in there and you’ll be able to use att without locking the embedded sim to them.

If you do use them on the embedded sim and lock it to them, then you’d just have to put the other carriers sim in the secondary slot going forward.

Yeah, get a SIM for ATT and then you won't have to activate the internal SIM. But if your internal SIM does get locked for some reason you can (or at least use to be able to) by an AppleSIM for $10 at any Apple Store.
