In common with many in Wales and some in England, my phone received an emergency alert before Storm Darragh. First one I've ever had (except when they did a test run some time back). Apart from being surprised, fine.
But I also got an IOS alert asking "Do you want to add [number] to iMessage and FaceTime?". And the number displayed was Swedish.
Took me a while to realise this is the phone number of my own data-only multi-network SIM. (I use an eSIM for my main carrier because multi-network not available as an eSIM.) I'd never even noticed it was a Swedish number - just bunged it in and started using it for data. I got it to help out when I'm in one of the huge number of blackspots there are in Wales.
I guess if I do add it to iMessage and FaceTime, I'd get doubled-up alerts in future.
(Similar also happened on my iPad which has a data-only SIM. But I have ignored that.)
Just editing because when I check, the number is allowed on iMessage! When I got the alert, I thought I had failed to silence it and it repeated - but now it seems that it was from two networks. So confused.
