Emergency Flashdrive

I installed OS X 10.10 onto a Flashdrive for emergency purposes. It is a class 10 USB Flashdrive, but OSX runs extremely slow on it. It's almost unusable. What should I be looking for (spec wise) when I buy a replacement USB Flashdrive, or is their some other way to speed it up ?

When you go shopping, look for a drive which isn't a USB flash drive, that should correct your issue.

impossible. well, maybe if it's some sort of a newest usb3 good, expensive usb flash drive. then maybe.. maybe...
