Tapping on it has no effect whatsoever: it is stuck there. Is there a way to clear this annoying nag? (I am using iOS 16.1.2)

Poke around the SOS satellite threads as I remember one member had that problem and I belive he resolved it.

As the beaver said in 'Lady and the Tramp’, "It works! It works swell!" Thank you so much for the tip. Anyone else suffering from this should search on MR for:

(RESOLVED!) iPhone 14 pro max (ios 16.1.1) delete this notification?

Does this mean that, just to prevent things like this happening, we have to keep the Health app on our phones even if we don't use it?

A wild guess, maybe fixed in 16.2?

Did you ever have any emergency contacts setup in the past? Can see that that information was possibly left behind when the app was removed.

Now that you know the “fix”, can deleted the app and see if comes back.

App itself is small, 1.6MB. Just not sure if phone still tracks steps, flights, etc even without app installed.

Back in January this year, I bought an iPhone 13 and I must have set up things within the app before deciding to delete it as it was unnecessary. I never heard from it again. On November 19th, I updated to a 14 Pro Max and deleted the Health app immediately. The problem came out of the blue today – a month later. When I re-installed the app, it had remembered my previous data.
I am loathe to delete it again as it might have another hissy fit and throw up unwanted alerts in the weeks (months?) to come. It can sit there doing nothing.
Thank you again for the fix to a problem that had apparently foxed even Apple Store experts.

Was just thinking that since you clicked through to get rid of the alert, a flag/bit noting you clicked through might now be set and won’t ask again, hence can delete.

I might try deleting later: at least I know how to fix it if it reoccurs.
