How many people actually use the emoji keyboard? I just kinda think it's unnecessary.

Use it multiple times everyday. Sometimes a tiny cartoony picture does a lot more than words ;)

My wife and I use it all the time. She sent me this yesterday when I told her that my friends and I were going to the mall to scope out some hot girls...

Emoji are perfect when your significant other is having a crappy day at work. Saying "So sorry" seems sarcastic in text form. Heck, MOST things seem sarcastic in text form.

But not the little forlorn face with a bunch of flowers next to him. It cheers my wife up, and I appreciate it when she cheers me up with the little penguin chasing a fish.

Go little penguin! You can do it!

What's not to like?

I use it with my friends. Especially one guy who likes to communicate in emoji and memes. Such as when I mentioned I wanted to kill a co-worker (whom he also knew) he offered the suggestion of the fork and knife via emoji.

The mrs loves to receives the purple hearts, or the smile-with-heart-eyes guy. it always manages to brighten her mood. Very useful way of communicating.
